Our Functional Medicine Process

You have likely already seen several doctors. Tests come back “normal,” but you still feel that something is not right. These are exactly the kinds of cases we work with — people from more than 25 countries looking for a more complete way to understand what may be contributing to their symptoms.

Our team combines two different professional perspectives. Panagiotis Tsintavis, Registered Dietitian with postgraduate training in Clinical Nutrition and advanced training in Functional Medicine, brings the perspective of clinical nutrition and systems-based care. Dr Varvara Zisimidou, an Internal Medicine physician trained in Germany, adds medical assessment grounded in Internal Medicine through a functional, systems-based framework.

Our goal is to organize the overall picture and determine which next step actually makes sense for you.

HEALTH STRATEGY CALL

If you are considering Premium One-on-One, the first step is a 15-minute Health Strategy Call.

We will briefly hear what is concerning you, explain how we would approach a case like yours and determine whether Premium One-on-One is the appropriate next step.

If there is a simpler or more cost-effective route, we will tell you.

After booking, you will also receive our eBook, The Biochemical Terrain Approach: Blood Sugar, Sleep and Gut Health, together with a short educational email series.

HEALTH HISTORY AND MEDICAL RECORDS

If you proceed with Premium One-on-One, you will receive access to your secure Patient Portal.

There you will complete your health history and upload relevant laboratory results, medical reports and other records so that we can review the overall picture before your initial consultation.

INITIAL CONSULTATION (120 Minutes)

During your initial Premium One-on-One consultation, we review your health history, symptoms and relevant laboratory findings in detail.

Where appropriate, we may use Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis, your Functional Medicine Timeline and Functional Medicine Matrix to organise the information and identify useful patterns and connections.

From this, we develop your first personalized plan. Additional testing is considered when it can answer a specific clinical question or help guide the next decision.

We test to answer a question — not to fill a report.

RECEIVE YOUR INDIVIDUALIZED PLAN

Within 72 hours, you receive your written recommendations and personalized plan, together with your Functional Medicine Matrix where applicable, so that you know clearly what the next steps are and why.

Your plan may include changes in nutrition, lifestyle and, where appropriate, targeted supplements.

We do not assume that more tests, more supplements or more dietary restrictions mean better care. We begin with what we believe can add meaningful value.

When dietary restrictions are used, they have a specific purpose and, where appropriate, are followed by gradual food reintroduction.

The goal is for the plan to become simpler, more targeted and more sustainable over time.

FOLLOW-UP SESSIONS (50 Minutes)

At each Premium One-on-One follow-up, we assess your progress and adjust the plan according to how you are responding.

That may mean not only adding something, but also reducing, removing or simplifying what is no longer needed.

Most patients work with us approximately once per month for 3–6 months. As things become more stable and you gain greater independence, consultations usually become less frequent, often moving to approximately every 6–12 months, depending on your needs.

For brief clarifications about your existing plan, you can also message us through the patient portal between consultations.

Premium One-on-One consultations are available online internationally and in person in Athens.

THE A.R.T. OF FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE

Our methodology for addressing complex chronic conditions

Assess – Review your history, symptoms, nutrition, lifestyle and relevant laboratory information to organise the overall picture.

Recommend – Prioritise targeted changes in nutrition, lifestyle and, where appropriate, supplementation or further investigation.

Track – Follow your response, review relevant changes and adjust the plan based on what is actually happening over time.

And then Assess, Recommend & Track again as needed — adapting the plan as your needs change.
